Nanny's 96th Birthday

Tyler and Bailey's great great grandmother turned 96 years old today.  We all went to her birthday party on Saturday.  It was Bailey Beth's first family gathering in Greenville with my Dad's side of the family.  We had a great time celebrating with everyone.

Racing is Loud

Ben and Tyler went to the Anderson Speedway on Friday night with Uncle Brian, Brianna, and Bennett.  Tyler and Bennett are both really into cars so we thought they might enjoy seeing a non-animated race.  Tyler loved it and told me all about it when they got home.  He must have said "loud" 30 times, and he covered his ears every single time he said it (because Dada kept covering his ears at the Speedway).

Bailey - 2 months

Bailey turned 2 months old on Tuesday and went in for her well check-up.  She weighed 12 lbs. 4 oz (90th %), was 22.5" long (60th %), and her head measured 15.5" (50th %).  It was so different seeing her growth chart because Tyler has always been taller than he is heavy so it was interesting to see it the other way around.

Bailey smiles and coos a lot.  She is a happy baby (unless she is tired or hungry).  She can push up on her arms when on her tummy.  She sleeps like a champ...for about 7-8 hours straight before waking to eat and then she goes back down for another 3-4 hours.  She takes 2 big naps a day.  She is still exclusively on Mommy's milk and nurses about 6 times a day.

Her Likes:
watching Tyler play
being held
baths
eating
swinging
"talking" with Mama
sleeping on Dada's chest

Her Dislikes:
red lights during car rides
being buckled into her car seat
listening to Tyler scream, yell, and shout
being in a dirty diaper

Tyler Talk

Tyler is such a talker....a loud talker!  We have to tell him: "shhhh", "be quiet", "not so loud" all the time.  He almost never stops talking, and he'll ask you the same question 20 times until he gets an answer.  It really is the cutest thing though.  Here are some of my favorite things that he says:

1) Hold Ju - his version of "hold you" which means hold me.....guess he always hears me say "do you want me to hold you"

2) Ah Daaay Ya - means right there.....right is "Ah" and there is "Daaay ya"

3) Mom...no

4) Poon - Spoon....he just drops the S

5) Come on in

6) Bailey, no cry-cry

New Testament Presentation

Bailey Beth went to church for the first time on Sunday.  Our pastor presented her a New Testament on stage during the morning worship service and officially introduced her to the congregation.

Saturday Night Fun

Tyler spent Saturday night at Nana & Papa's house and Ben, Bailey, and I went to Gerald's 30th birthday party at Sticky Fingers in Greenville.  Tyler had a great time with Nana & Papa (as usual) and we had a great time visiting with friends.

Bailey's 1st Trip to Greenwood

On Saturday we went to Greenwood to visit with my family since Trent, Shauna, & Kaleb were there for the weekend.  It was Bailey Beth's first trip down to Mama's old stomping grounds, and also the first time she met her cousin Kaleb.  We had a great time....enjoying a yummy lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Mig's, and even spent some time in my parent's hot tub.

Look Mama....No Fingers!

Tyler quit sucking his fingers about a month ago!!  He did it all by himself...we didn't do anything to get him to stop.  He LOVED those 2 left fingers so, and we never imagined he'd just quit sucking them, this early, without an intervention from us.  Oh, our little boy is growing up!  I am happy that it he did it on his own time and without a battle, but it makes me sad in a small way to realize he's not a baby anymore.
