Ultrasound Update

We had our ultrasound this morning to check out Bailey's estimated weight and my amniotic fluid levels.  Everything looked great - my fluid levels were normal and Bailey measured to be about 7 pounds 13 ounces, which puts her in the 75 percentile for weight on the growth chart.  Ultrasounds this late in pregnancy are not completely accurate, but they are a best guess.  The measurents are accurate within a pound either way which means she could very well be 6 lbs. 13 ozs. or 8 lbs. 13 ozs - we'll just have to wait and see!

The ultrasonographer had a hard time getting a good head circumference measurement because Bailey's head was so low in my pelvis.  Bailey's head circumference measured to be in the 32nd percentile, her femur bone length measured to be in the 59th percentile, and her abdomen circumference measured to be in the 93rd percentile.  The OB said the head circumference measurement had the largest margin for error, since she is so low, and that it's probably larger than it acutally measured which would make her estimated weight a little higher.  Bailey's heart rate was 152 bpm and she still has girl parts ;-).

Just for comparison, we had our last ultrasound with Tyler when I was 37 weeks, 1 week less than with Bailey, and he estimated to be 7 lbs. 9 ozs. in that scan.  Tyler was born at exactly 39 weeks and Bailey is scheduled to arrive at 39 weeks 3 days.  I think it's neat how they've always measured so closely in their ultrasounds.

I won't have anymore OB appts. since my c-section is scheduled for next Thursday.  My cervix is still closed so it does not appear that Bailey Beth will surprise us with an early arrival.  We are VERY excited and will let you know when Miss Bailey Beth makes her grand entrance into the world.  Please keep our family in your prayers!

Big OB Update - 37 weeks!

I have officially reached "full term" status now and we are getting very excited about Bailey's arrival!  I had an OB appt. on Friday and we learned some interesting information.  The biggest news is that I am now measuring 41 weeks which puts me 3.5 weeks ahead!!  The OB decided she wanted us to have an ultrasound, just as a precaution, to get a weight estimate for Bailey and to check my amniotic fluid levels.  Everything still looks good and they are just expecting that she'll be a big baby just like her big brother.  So, we are scheduled to have one last ultrasound scan on Tuesday morning.  I am quite excited about it because I always enjoy "seeing" her.

My Group B Strep test came back negative - which is good news, and my blood pressure still looks great.  Bailey Beth's heart rate held steady at 155 bpm and she is head down "in position" now.  She still hasn't dropped and I haven't dilated any yet so we are hopeful that she will hold out until June 24th.  We'll send out another update after our scan on Tuesday!

Celebration Dinner

Ben's old boss, Arun, hosted a dinner party for us on Friday evening to celebrate Ben's new promotion and the soon-to-be arrival of Bailey Beth.  All of the Coating Dept. engineers and supervisors came and we enjoyed a traditional Indian dinner prepared by Arun's wife, Sucheta.  We were thankful for the party and the gifts we received.

Ben's Promotion

Ben recently got a promotion at work!  As of July 1st he will be replacing his boss and will be the Coating/Final Operations Manager.  Ben is currently the chemical engineer and supervisor for CVD which is one of the areas in the Coating Dept.  He will now report directly to the plant manager and will be the boss of all the engineers and supervisors in the Coating Dept.  There are 3 main departments in his plant: Pressing, Grinding, and Coating, so Ben will be one of "The Big 3" managers.  Ben is the youngest manager in the plant and I am so proud of all his accomplishments at work.

Birthday Parties

Tyler recently attended 2 of his cousin's birthday parties.  Brock turned 1 and had an Elmo themed party and Kaleb turned 3 and had a pool/Toy Story themed party.  Tyler had a great time at both parties!

We Hear Wedding Bells!

Trey & Lucinda, Ben's sister, got engaged on Friday, June 4th at Biltmore Estate!!!  We are very exited for them and are looking forward to their wedding!  Lucinda will be a stunning & beautiful bride and all 3 of us really like Trey.  Here is a picture of Lucinda's gorgeous engagement ring and a photo of them right after Trey popped the question.

Our New Car

Our new car came in on Memorial Day and I actually saw it loaded on the truck being delivered!  Isn't that amazing?!  We were in route to Ryan & Jennifer's house to celebrate Memorial Day with them and when we were passing exit 19 on I-85 I saw the delivery truck with our black Nissan Armada on the very top.  When the dealership called to let us know our car had arrived (within 10 minutes of it taking the exit) we knew that it was in fact our car that I saw.....crazy!

We got a 2010 black Nissan Armada and we are very pleased with it.  Tyler LOVES the "ew car" (new car) and tends to get upset when we take the Camry out instead.

Big Boy Bed

We converted Tyler's crib to a toddler bed on Memorial Day.  He's been successfully sleeping in his "big boy bed" for about 2 weeks and we were shocked at how smoothly the transition went.  We didn't think that Tyler would have the discipline to stay in his bed since he can easily get out now.  However, Tyler did great and even stays in his bed for naps.....though we did have one afternoon where he kept escaping.  We are very proud of him!
