It's Beginning to Look....

A Lot Like Christmas........

Thanksgiving 2010

We had a nice, intimate Thanksgiving dinner this year...just the 4 of us!  It was the first time, since getting married, that we didn't celebrate with family.  We missed seeing everyone, but it was kind of nice to relax and enjoy the day at our own pace.
Someone is excited about her first Thanksgiving!

Bailey - 5 Months

Our baby girl turned 5 months old on the day before Thanksgiving.  I'll wait until 6 months to do a long blog on how wonderful she is...of course including all her new tricks.  I couldn't let a month milestone go by without a post though - so here is a sweet picture of Miss Bailey Beth for you to enjoy.

Birthday Party

Nana & Pop (Tyler & Bailey's great grandpa Gaines) both had birthdays on Sunday so we celebrated with a family party. We hope they both enjoyed it and had happy birthdays.  Paige took some great pictures of Tyler and Bailey at the party and here are several for your viewing pleasure.

Lucinda & Trey's Shower

Anna, Erin, and I hosted a bridal shower for Lucinda & Trey.  They had a great time, a good turnout, and received many nice gifts.

Heirloom Dining Room

We recently moved in my maternal grandparents' dining room furniture....with the help of my dad and our friend Gerald!  Of course, I think it looks absolutely beautiful and I feel so honored to have it.  Grandmother Ridley was always a stickler for taking good care of things and keeping them clean so naturally her dining furniture is in pristine condition.  As I look at it I can remember many meals we shared around the table at her house...even when I had to eat at the kids' table and was an onlooker to the "big table".  I never imagined that table would someday sit in my house - but I'm very grateful it does!  Here's a bare look at the room...we haven't really finished decorating yet.

close up of the china cabinet...we put Grandmother Ridley's coffee set in the bottom, left corner and Grandma Harmon's amber depression glass in the bottom, right corner.  Their pieces don't coordinate exactly, but it we wanted to display them just the same.

Happy Halloween

We went to the Fall Festival at church and when we got home Tyler had just enough time to trick or treat at several houses in our neighborhood.  Tyler played games, decorated a paper pumpkin with stickers, got a balloon & popcorn, went on a hayride, scored some candy, and ate a hot dog at the festival!  Bailey just took everything in....she seemed to enjoy watching all the kiddos.  Tyler really "got it" this year and had loads of fun all evening.  I think Bailey was happy with her 1st Halloween judging by all the smiles she flashed around at the festival.  The most unique "treat" Tyler received was play doh and the funniest thing from the night was Tyler trying to go into our neighbors' homes - you just never know with that boy!
