Baby J's Ultrasound

A friend of mine is an ultrasonographer and she offered to do an ultrasound scan for us just for fun. She also did a scan for us with Tyler, and coincidently both scans were done when I was in my 26th week of pregnancy!! I figured it out that Baby J was 26 weeks 5 days during her ultrasound and Tyler was 26 weeks 2 days during his ultraound....so Tyler was about 3 days younger in his scan. Surprisingly enough, Baby J weighed almost the same exact amount as Tyler did in his scan so it looks like she may be trying to "keep up" with her big brother's weight gain in utero. Tyler measured to be about 2 pounds 4 ounces in his scan and Baby J measured to be about 2 pounds 5 ounces in her scan.....pretty darn close!

Baby J is still in a head up position, and she was moving around quite a bit during our scan. Everything looked great and she seems to be developing well. Her heart rate was 133 bpm, and she measured to be 27 weeks 2 days along so she is measuring to be about 4 days ahead. This estimate puts her due date as June 24th. We're still tentatively scheduled for a c-section on June 21st, but I may try to hold out until June 24th so both our children will be born on the 24th of the month...we'll just have to see.

During our scan we were able to, very clearly, see that Baby J is indeed a girl! She gave us several good views to identify the female genitalia. We think that her facial profile looks almost exactly like Tyler's. At one point she had her feet up over her head, like she was in a serious "sit & reach" position. She looked extremely flexible!
I'll be 27 weeks along tomorrow, which marks the 1st day of the 3rd trimester of this pregnancy! It feels like it's going by so much faster than with Tyler!

here's a shot of her face straight on...she has her left arm up almost like she's scratching her head
