Bailey Beth - 8 Months

Our Miss Bailey Beth turned 8 months old on Feb. 24th!  Can you believe it....I can't!!  We just moved her out of our room and into the nursery on Sunday evening.  We never really intended to wait so long to move her to the crib, but with Christmas, our Vegas trip, then the flu things just kept getting delayed.  She slept great in our room too so there wasn't any real rush to move her either.  She made the transition perfectly!  She acts like she's been sleeping in the crib since birth - I declare that Bailey is just the most adaptable and go-with-the-flow baby I've ever seen.  We're actually still in the process of redecorating both of their new rooms so there'll be more pictures to come soon.

Bailey Beth is a serious talker.  She's learning to be loud and talk often from her big brother, but hey she's got to be able to get a word in around here.  She takes about 4 pumped bottles per day and has 2-3 jars of baby food.  She's drinking her bottles much better and usually in one sitting now - whew that's a big relief too.  She pretty much likes most every baby food (even peaches now) and has absolutely no problem polishing off each serving.

No crawling yet, but we're not exactly pushing it either.  I like knowing she's gonna stay put.  She's really into exploring faces right now, and she's not exactly graceful about it.  Ben says that she thinks it's funny if we say "ouch".  She likes to give hugs.  She lays her little head on my neck and holds my shoulders with her hands - it melts me!  She plays well with toys...picks them up, changes hands, moves things around, operates simple levers, buttons, and knobs.  Bailey can hold her own sippy cup, but doesn't guzzle it....she's a lady.

Bailey Beth is certainly a Daddy's girl and gets so excited to see her Dada everyday when he steps in the door after work.  Her favorite word is "dada" with "bah-bah" in a close second.  I'm 95% sure she's said "mama" several times, but she only pulls that one out every now and then.  The rest of her "talking" is just jabbering baby talk.  According to our home scale she weighs 18 pounds.

Here are a few recent photos for you to enjoy:
