Baby J's Ultrasound

A friend of mine is an ultrasonographer and she offered to do an ultrasound scan for us just for fun. She also did a scan for us with Tyler, and coincidently both scans were done when I was in my 26th week of pregnancy!! I figured it out that Baby J was 26 weeks 5 days during her ultrasound and Tyler was 26 weeks 2 days during his ultraound....so Tyler was about 3 days younger in his scan. Surprisingly enough, Baby J weighed almost the same exact amount as Tyler did in his scan so it looks like she may be trying to "keep up" with her big brother's weight gain in utero. Tyler measured to be about 2 pounds 4 ounces in his scan and Baby J measured to be about 2 pounds 5 ounces in her scan.....pretty darn close!

Baby J is still in a head up position, and she was moving around quite a bit during our scan. Everything looked great and she seems to be developing well. Her heart rate was 133 bpm, and she measured to be 27 weeks 2 days along so she is measuring to be about 4 days ahead. This estimate puts her due date as June 24th. We're still tentatively scheduled for a c-section on June 21st, but I may try to hold out until June 24th so both our children will be born on the 24th of the month...we'll just have to see.

During our scan we were able to, very clearly, see that Baby J is indeed a girl! She gave us several good views to identify the female genitalia. We think that her facial profile looks almost exactly like Tyler's. At one point she had her feet up over her head, like she was in a serious "sit & reach" position. She looked extremely flexible!
I'll be 27 weeks along tomorrow, which marks the 1st day of the 3rd trimester of this pregnancy! It feels like it's going by so much faster than with Tyler!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Here's a photo of Tyler from last year! We haven't taken any pictures yet this year. Hope everyone is wearing their green today :-).

Tyler's Call List

Tyler loves to pretend he is talking on the phone! He always "calls" the same people on the phone......he has his very own call list. We think it's so cute and get amused by the people he chooses to call. Here is Tyler's official call list (I hope you feel special if you made the cut):

Tyler (yep...he calls himself)
Elmo
Abby
The Backyardigans characters
Mama/Dada
KK
Brianna
Aunt Lulu/Trey
Nana/Papa

It's almost like Tyler is a phone solicitor because it sounds like he is reading from a script on all his calls. He always asks each person the same questions. Here's a typical phone call from Tyler:

Hello!
Who is it?

Hi __________
What'd you do?

I love you
Bye Bye

4 Runner Update

We received an email from Toyota of Greenville last Thursday with a quote on a 4 Runner that we thought was fair so we made a deal and put down our deposit (since they would have to trade to get the 4 Runner for us). The 4 Runner was on Greenville's "sister" lot so they expected we should be able to get it by the weekend. We were excited and happy about finally finding the "perfect" 4 Runner with all the options we wanted and none that we didn't want. This was especially good since there are only 9 black 4 Runners in the southeast with 4 wheel drive (and this includes those still in transport from Japan) so we were thrilled to actually be getting one. Since we go on skiing trips 4 wheel drive is an important option to us.....much more important than having blue tooth on an upgraded radio for example.

So.....we received a call on Friday afternoon to let us know that Greenville could not get us our 4 Runner from their sister lot because Greenville only had 2 wheel drive 4 Runners and their sister lot wouldn't accept a trade for a 2 wheel drive in exchange for a 4 wheel drive! This seems to be a problem with other lots also, and since all the 4 wheel drive 4 Runners are on lots out of state we decided to expand our search to other SUVs. We are disappointed, but realize that everything happens for a reason.

We've been looking into Honda Pilots and plan to go check them out this afternoon!

Baby J. Update!

I had another prenatal check-up yesterday. It was one of those visits where you leave feeling like nothing really happened. All they did at this appointment was check my blood pressure & weight, ask all the usual questions on their checklist, listen to the heart beat (which I always enjoy), and measure my tummy.... then I was out the door!

My blood pressure is still low, weight is ok, I had all the "right" answers to their questions, the baby's heart rate fluctuated between the high 130s, and my tummy is still measuring ahead! The OB said everything still looks good. They'll do the glucose test at my next appointment to check for gestational diabetes.

One of my friends offered to do an ultrasound for us, just for fun, the last weekend in March so we are very excited to "see" the baby again. Below is a picture of me at 24 weeks pregnant!

Explorer Sold!

We sold our Explorer Sport! Ben listed it on AutoTrader and we sold it within 2 weeks. We felt good about the deal we made and it was our 1st experience with a "private party" car sale so we were thankful everything went smoothly. We are currently looking at 4Runners. We've been to several dealerships and we're still in the "negotiating" phase. We need to get something a little larger since baby #2 is on the way ;-).

Zoo Trip

The Harris family invited us to go to the Greenville Zoo with them several weekends ago, and Tyler had a great time checking out all the animals with his buddy Austin!
